The client had a clear idea of what they wanted in terms of the layout and design of their new kitchen, having appointed Hoko Architects to develop the wider scheme of the extension to their semi-detached bungalow.
We worked with them to refine the flow of the space and add subtle design details, suggesting a mixed palette of oak, soft-touch Fenix, and textured Silestone worktops.
Designed in typical Scandinavian style, a short run of cabinetry, accommodating an integrated dishwasher, undermount sink, and pull-out bin, is book-ended by two tall fridge and oven stacks. A series of six 900mm wide drawers continues the bold symmetry into the island, while providing ample storage for food, crockery and pans.

An oak shelf spans the main run of cabinets between the fridge freezer and oven stack, breaking up the light tones of the upper doors and tiling and providing a display space for pottery and daily cups.
The downdraft hob is vented behind the two central drawers and into the floor via a slim letterbox duct, meaning no storage space is lost within the island.
A matching oak boiler cabinet and bench, along with a small utility room, complete the scheme.
